What is carob?
Carob - is a sweet alternative to cacao powder made from edible pods of carob trees. It has a sweetish taste, has tart-bitter notes like cacao and resembles a bit caramel. It is:
- rich in fiber
- has less fat that cacao
- has 3 times more calcium than cacao
- good alternative if you have cacao food sensitivity or histamine reactions
- does not contain oxalic acid, which interferes with the absorption of calcium and iron
- does not contain caffeine and theobromine, so you can enjoy it in the evening and also good in case you has sensitive nervous system
